Who Was Wearing What at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards?
The absence of Chris Brown and girlfriend Rihanna from the performance and the red carpet list was quickly forgotten by the great colors worn by the elite of Hollywood. Some of the outfits, dresses and gowns deserved much appreciation.
Hats off to Jennifer Hudson who has been welcome back into the fold. From her superbowl performance to the Grammy awards ceremony, Jennifer has been a winner on the fashion list of many fashionistas. She was wearing a white, silver and black color-blocked cocktail dress. Sheryl Crow stood out in her slinky one-shoulder electric blue gown designed by Toni Maticevski. And Taylor Swift, posing with Miley Cyrus, was elegant in her sexy V-neck black number by Kaufman Franco. As for Sara Bareilles, she was wearing a pink dress by Louisa Beccaria with a bright red sash around her waist. Fantasia was donned in a silver halter dress while Jordin Sparks had a custom-made black dress.
Katy Perry was wearing a skintight blush-pink dress with ruffles in the front. Duffy was wearing an Alberta Ferreti black cocktail dress with a jeweled neckline. Carrie Underwood's gold and crystal slip gown by Zuhair Murad was great.
Paula Abdul looked superb in her sunshine yellow gown with overdone gold trim. JLO had on a V-neck Versace.

Ms Isabel Toledo Designed and Delivered Michelle Obama's French Silk, Swiss Wool Dress That Reminds of Spanish Influences

Bravo, Bravo, Bravo to Ms. Isabel Toledo for designing a great dress for Michelle for such a great occasion!
"Isabel Toledo, the Cuban-born designer of Mrs. Obama’s inaugural outfit, did not know positively until this morning if the new first lady would wear the lemongrass-yellow coat and matching dress she specially designed for her. “We’re all up here watching the T.V.,” said the designer in a telephone interview from her New York studio. “It’s great. We’re so happy.”
Ms. Toledo, who has been making clothes in New York for 25 years, said the coat and dress were made of Swiss wool lace, backed with netting for warmth and lined in French silk. “I wanted to pick a very optimistic color, that had sunshine,” she said. “I wanted her to feel charmed, and in that way would charm everybody.” Ms. Toledo sounded overwhelmed. “This is so wonderful,” she said.
About thirteen people in her studio worked on the outfit over the Christmas holidays. “Chinese ladies, Polish ladies, Spanish ladies—I have a picture of everyone working on her clothes,” Ms. Toledo, who is 48, said. She added, “We’re all grateful for this opportunity, and we don’t even have a PR person!”

Spend Less on Your Wedding, Have a Credit Crunch Wedding
How would you like to have a credit crunch or budget wedding?
Henry Kaye, a company that sells wedding dresses online and to other retailers, has launched an area on its site: "Credit Crunch Wedding Style -- Budget Weddings." There, customers find "cheap bridesmaids and flower girl dresses" costing less than $84. Putting the phrase on the site has helped sales, says owner Sharon Gavin. "The credit crunch is so of the moment. Everyone is talking about it."
These days, Americans aren't the only ones being socked hard in the wallet -- and suddenly touting cheap chic and recessionista fashion. Britain, too, is coming down from years of unbridled consumerism. Not long ago, Britons en masse considered shopping trips to New York as an economical way to part with their strong pounds. Grocery stores tried to outdo one another with pricey premium and organic foods. Homes were costly and credit was cheap.

The Glamorous and Elegant Actresses and Women of the 60th Annual Emmy Award, 2008

Some of the best dressed women included Christina applegate, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Sandra Oh. These actresses hit all the right marks. They were hot. Heidi Klum, Mariska Hargitay, Marcia Cross, Vanessa Williams, Julia Louis Dreyfus and Sandra Oh have caused many fans to talk about their updos and gowns. Producer, writer and star Tina Fey was fabulous with her strapless gown. So was Teri Hatcher. This year, the catwalk trend and asymetric were seen on Vanessa Williams and Christina Applegate who, after her breast-cancer surgery, came in a sweeping gown in ice blue with metallic patches.
Sandra Oh moved from the worst-dressed list to the best-dressed list this year. She was wearing a retro-style black lace dress by Oscar de la Renta with a ribbon sash and a few sparkles on the skirt. They matched her resplendent 5.5-carat emerald-cut diamond earrings by Bulgari. Christina Hendricks donned a curve-hugging emerald green gown which went well with her red hair worn in an up-style twist. As far as Louis Dreyfus was concerned, she wore a salmon-colored Narciso Rodriguez dress with a fitted shiny bodice, complete with a sliver of skin showing under the bust.

2008 Emmy Awards Fashion: 2008 Emmy Winners and Losers
ankfully, though a few trends emerged, none dominated completely. Save for bare clavicles. Perhaps it was the recent collapse of Lehman Brothers that had most attendees avoiding Elizabeth Taylor-worthy statement necklaces and opting for oversized earrings and bold cuff bracelets. Only nominee America Ferrera, wearing a 19th century diamond flower necklace from Fred Leighton, and Nicolette Sheridan adorned their throats.
Bold colors, rather than carats, proved to be the prevailing look-this-way ploy. And on this 76 degree Sunday afternoon, refreshing sorbet was the inspiration. Brooke Shields dazzled in a ruffled raspberry Badgley Mischka gown, while Tina Fey in David Meister and Holly Hunter in Jenny Packham chose variations on grape. Julia Louis-Dreyfus' melon Narciso Rodriguez, with its beaded bandage bodice, was a sexy and daring choice that paid off. Her uninspired updo, however, felt frumpy by comparison.
Yellow, which can backfire severely, worked wonders on a bronzed Mariska Hargitay in Carolina Herrera, Becki Newton and raven-haired Teri Hatcher. Christina Applegate, nominated for her role on "Samantha Who?," wafted like incense in a Reem Acra silk organza, jacquard draped gown in soft blue. "Ugly Betty" nominee Ferrera's poufy black confection felt like it fell out of an auntie's closet and didn't complement her vixen-red lips and Veronica Lake waves. A column gown or mermaid cut would have been a much better and younger bet for the only nominee under 30.
It was refreshing to see a few bare knees too. Eva Longoria Parker and Kyra Sedgwick looked sophisticated in cocktail-length dresses. Marcia Cross' blush-toned Elie Saab was a wonder, with dozens of elaborate floral appliques.
The more mature contenders certainly didn't let age-old fashion directives affect their choices. Fortysomethings like Sedgwick and Mary-Louise Parker showed off manes that could sweep chimneys. Holly Hunter, at 50, looked ready to hang 10 with her beach bunny blond locks.
Oh, and was there a big game on this afternoon? How else to explain the fact that the men didn't exactly go all out? Most arrived in simple, knotted ties and nary a lapel pin. The guys from "Entourage" in shiny matching knotted ties and tousled hair could easily have been mistaken for a boy band, if it hadn't been for Kevin Dillon's sleek bow tie. Patrick Dempsey and Lee Pace (the latter a nominee for "Pushing Daisies") also commanded respect in sophisticated tuxedos.
But in the end, it was Christina Hendricks of "Mad Men" who caused red carpet collisions and gapes of envy in her ruched Tadashi gown. The sheer magnitude of her alabaster bosom made her stand out like a natural monument. Add to that a goddess-like upsweep of her Titian locks and dramatic cat-eye make up. Sometimes, more

2007 Toyota Land Cruiser

If you want the best reputation, ruggedness and luxury in your truck, find the nearest Toyota dealership where you can get the 2007 Toyota Land Cruiser SUV.
This SUV has the most impressive reputation in the industry. It was revised last year. The Land Cruiser received a new front grille, headlamps and rear styling. The standard 18-inch aluminum wheels gained a new high-gloss finish with a newly available sporty rear spoiler. It also came equipped wit a new and powerful engine and the most advanced suspension control options. Its power is generated by a smooth, sophisticated 4.7V V-8 prome mover and communicated to the groun via a five-speed automatic transmission. With all this addition, the Land Cruiser gained 40 horsepower. The drive system is a full-time two-speed, all-wheel drive setup with an on-demand (low-speed) center differential lock button.
What can you find inside the cabin?
The driver and occupants enjoy the best outward visibility offered in most any SUV. Accommodations are room for every occupant inside the Land Cruiser. Hand grips at each wide door opening facilitate entry and exit. The SUV comes retrofitted with a comfortable center armrest doubles as a two-stage storage bin and contains the six-disc CD changer.
How about the third Row? The third row seating carries three of my kids without any discomfort. The seating is a 50/50 split arrangement that reclines and is removable. Rear power quarter windows, plenty of cup holders, and assist grips enhance the safety and comfort level of the truck.
The rear cargo door opening is a combination hatch/tailgate for maximum access to the cargo area. The flexibility of the folding second and removable third row seats enables the Land Cruiser to make the most of the available interior space. This SUV is equipped with cutting-edge technology, including a backup camera and Bluetooth communication capability. Available in conjuction with the optional navigation system, the backup camera provides the driver with a view of what is behind the vehicle.
Car enthusiasts and observers agree that the 2007 Land Cruiser is a 4-door, 8-passenger luxury sport-utility, available in one trim only, the 4X4.
The Land Cruiser is equipped with a standard 4.7-liter, V8, 265-horsepower engine that achieves 13-mpg in the city and 17-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard.
The 2007 Land Cruiser is a carryover from 2006. Find hot Toyota Land Cruiser and Toyota Tundra Reviews
